Six Flags Great America
As the glowing eyes atop Six Flags Chicago's 66-foot Skull Tower, Industrial Traffic Solutions' custom LED application animates the historic attraction's visual theme for visitors and brings it into the 21st Century.
While Skull Island was added to Six Flags Great America's Hurricane Harbor in 2005 as the world's largest interactive water playground, the skull theme originated at Six Flags Texas in 1961, inspired by tales of legendary Gulf Coast pirate Jean Lafayette. A skull tower was added in 1969 where it remained until dismantled in 1982. Skull Tower was resurrected two decades later in Chicago and other Six Flags locations nationwide.
Today, Six Flags Great America uses our bright, crisp LED traffic lights to set the aesthetic tone of its popular Skull Island area while saving 85% on energy costs compared to use of incandescent bulbs. Industrial Traffic Solutions custom LED traffic lights last twice as long as standard LED lights, significantly reducing replacement and maintenance costs.
